Mikrolimano, formerly known as Tourkolimano, is one of the most picturesque and popular tourist destinations in Piraeus. Located on the eastern side of the city, between Zea and Neo Faliro, it is the third and smallest natural harbor of Piraeus, historically known as Mounichia. During the Byzantine period, it was called Fanari, and during Ottoman rule, it became known as Tourkolimano. The current name, Mikrolimano, was established in 1967 by then-mayor Aristides Skylitsis.

Mikrolimano is a magnet for locals and visitors alike, thanks to its breathtaking view of the Saronic Gulf and its island-like atmosphere. The waterfront is lined with seafood taverns, cafes, and bars, offering a vibrant yet relaxing setting, perfect for a seaside stroll.

Cinematic Aesthetic: Mikrolimano offers a coastal and island-like aesthetic, with strong elements of traditional Greek architecture and an urban feel due to the lively social activity in its taverns and bars.

Reasons for Selection: The unique location and picturesque views make Mikrolimano ideal for scenes requiring a romantic, seaside atmosphere. It is perfect for capturing the tranquility and beauty of the sea, as well as for narratives focusing on urban life and tradition.

Type of Film: Suitable for romantic films, social dramas, documentaries focusing on urban life and tradition, as well as travel and culinary shows.

Directorial Perspective: Mikrolimano provides the opportunity to showcase both traditional Greek architecture and the vibrancy of urban life by the sea, creating scenes with strong atmosphere and visual charm.
